ODISEI

Organoid-based Discovery platform for Innovative Screening, Evaluation, and Identification

The ability to model human disease in the lab is critical for understanding pathogenesis and developing effective therapies. Traditional 2D cell cultures and animal models often fail to capture the structural and functional complexity of human organs. Organoids — three-dimensional miniaturized tissues derived from stem cells or patient samples — offer a physiologically relevant system that bridges the gap between in vitro and in vivo models.

Application Note

In the traditional drug development process, promising compounds progress from preclinical testing through clinical trials (Phase I–III) — a long and costly journey often hindered by poor translation from animal models to human patients. Organoid-based systems, such as ODISEI, can be strategically integrated between preclinical and Phase I studies to provide human-relevant data on drug efficacy and toxicity before entering clinical testing.

Studies have shown a high concordance between organoid-based drug testing and patient clinical outcomes, far exceeding that of traditional 2D cell cultures or
animal models. Because patient-derived organoids (PDOs) retain the original tumor’s genetic profile, histology, and treatment response, they provide a more
predictive and clinically relevant platform for evaluating therapeutic efficacy and resistance mechanisms.

ODISEI ONC

Immune checkpoint inhibitors regulate the interaction between cancer cells and immune cells to promote cancer cell death via immune cells. Therefore, a co-culture platform of cancer cells and immune cells are needed for their evaluation.

ODISEI VIR

Infectious disease models such as infected tonsil or adenoid organoids could be used to evaluate drug response to treatment. A typical example is the case of coronavirus where upper respiratory tissues are primarily affected; tonsil organoid is optimal for analyzing the interaction between SARS-Cov-2 and the immune system, as well as evaluating drug efficacy.

ODISEI SKIN

Our ODISEI Skin Solution is an advanced human skin organoid-based testing platform for cosmetics, dermatology, and hair restoration. The model closely mimics real skin structures, including the epidermis, dermis, hair follicles, and melanocytes, enabling accurate evaluation of product safety and efficacy.

By supporting real-time observation of long-term effects and functional changes, ODISEI enables studies such as anti-inflammatory response, skin barrier recovery, pigmentation control, and hair growth analysis. As a human-relevant alternative to animal testing, it supports ethical, sustainable, and responsible innovation in the cosmetic field.
